GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

18 Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life. 19 And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.  - Ecclesiastes 5:18-19(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

21 Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him. 23 And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.  - 1 John 3:21-24(New Living Translation).

A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER

Be careful how you live; you may be the only Bible some people read.

NOTES

Today has been a sunny day in McAlester, Oklahoma with high temperatures in the low sixties.  The five inches of snow that we received yesterday disappeared today.  I had lunch with Charley.  I met some good friends at the post office, Ruth and Lawrence Traughber.  I worked with Ruth at H&R Block for several years.  I then went by Sandy Isenhower's office and left information for my tax return to be prepared.  While there I had a good reunion with her husband, Charles, who has a garage next to Sandy's office.  I have Rhapsody on my computer where I can listen to just about any song that has been recorded.  While I have been doing the Good Things I have been listening to sacred songs by Elvis Presley.  Right now "Only Believe" is playing and after that "Amazing Grace" is playing.

The cats are fine, going in and out tonight as they please.  Little Girl is on her favorite spot on the back of the couch here in the den.  Emmy is on a desk close by me eating dry food.

At 10:00 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 49 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In Christian Love, Everett.
