Good Things

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. 7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. 8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.  - Romans 8:6-8(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.  - Ephesians 1:14(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

Our eternal adoption papers are signed and sealed with the precious blood of our Savior.
- Joyce Williams -

A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER

Do your best, and then be at rest.
- From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES

Well, one month ago today on January 19, 2010, the last Good Things were sent out.  At that time I didn't realize that it would be one month before the Good Things were back.  I think the Lord's planning was in this for some reason.  I found the information last night in a box where I had put them the day before I moved, but the box was mis-labled and other items were at the top of the box.  I had been by that box every day so I think it was the Lord's good timing that I wait until now to start them again.  Things are going as well as can be expected with me.  I am better satisfied in McAlester than I was in Moore and I sincerely believe that it was the Lord's Will that my house didn't sell so I could move back.  My life will never be the same again since I lost my dear Flonnie.  I will just take care of our cats until it is time for me to join her again.  I pray that the Lord will keep me well enough to stay at home and take care of the cats.

Today I had lunch with my brother, Charles, at Taco Bob's Fiesta Grill as I do every day.  We always see someone we know at Bob's and that is one big difference in being here rather than in Moore.

We had sunshine this morning and clouds this afternoon.  High temperatures today were in the mid fifties.  We may get some rain tonight.

The cats are fine.  The ones that were here before and the two that had not been here have all adjusted to their new home.

At 7:10 p.m. skies are cloudy with a temperature of 50 degrees.  I will see you next time and the notes will probably be shorter.  If a verse from God's Word, a quote or a thought from the Good Things today has helped you in some way, I would be happy to hear about it.

Thanks to Nan Forehand for sending some Good Things from her archives the past few days.  It is good to be back!

In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
