GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

17 Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
      and there are no grapes on the vines;
   even though the olive crop fails,
      and the fields lie empty and barren;
   even though the flocks die in the fields,
      and the cattle barns are empty,
 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
      I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
- Habakkuk 3:17-18(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

30 “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. 33 And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”  - Luke 1:32-33(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

The close communion that the Lord desires and is willing to experience with us is something we can count on, even if everyone else abandons us.  - Charles Stanley -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

To speak kindly does not hurt the tongue.

Good intentions, like good eggs, soon spoil unless hatched.

NOTES

Today has been a cloudy day in Moore, Oklahoma, with high temperatures around 50 degrees.  We are supposed to have snow tomorrow so we may have a White Christmas.  I went out about noon to get some more cat food in case I get snowed in for a day or two.  Pastor Doug came by about 4:00 p.m. and brought me some Christmas cards from people in the church.  My son, Ron, came about 4:30 p.m. and stayed until around 7:00 p.m.

The cats are fine.  Rascal came to snuggle with me as I napped this afternoon and Leo came and snuggled with Rascal so I had two cats napping with me.

At 9:10 p.m. skies are cloudy with a temperature of 39 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
