GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

Respect for Authority

Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. 3 For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. 4 The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. 5 So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.  6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.  - Romans 13:1-7(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
- James 4:10(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

Love cannot be practiced right unless we first exercise it the moment God gives the opportunity.

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

To do nothing is tiresome, one can never stop and take a rest.
- From Reminisce Magazine -

Instead of giving yourself a pat on the back, try giving yourself a good shove.

NOTES

Today has been mostly cloudy in Moore, Oklahoma, with the sun peeping through now and then this afternoon.  High temperatures were in the low fifties.  I had lunch at home.  I went out this afternoon to the post office, then to Petsmart store and then to Crest Food Market.  My daughter and husband, June and Keith Steele, left this morning for Hawaii where they will spend the winter.  They plan on staying four months.  They are both retired.  I will sure miss them.  I expect a phone call from June before I go to bed telling me they have arrived in Hawaii.

The cats are fine.  I lay down late this afternoon and didn't go to sleep.  Leo would come in and check on me every few minutes.  As far as I know Friendly didn't get out of the yard today but I don't always see her when she gets out.

At 7:05 p.m. we still have some clouds with a temperature of 43 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
