GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

7 For we live by believing and not by seeing.
- 2 Corinthians 5:7(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

13 For he (God) has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.  - Colossians 1:13-14(New Living Translation).

NOTES

Today has been a partly cloudy day with high temperatures in the mid seventies.  I attended church this morning.  The summary of the church service will be in a different paragraph.  I came home from church, heated a tv dinner and ate it out on the deck.  I then sat outside for a while with the cats.  I came inside and took a nap.  This evening I took a pain pill and started the Good Things.  When I finish the Good Things I will fix me something for my evening meal.

The cats are fine.  Smokey finally managed to get back across the fence into our yard this morning a little after 7:00 a.m.  I don't think that he tried to get out of the yard today.

In church this morning, Pastor Doug Vernier started the service with a welcome and announcements.  He then introduced the acting District Superintendent, Dr.Talmadge Johnson.  Dr. Johnson is a General Supt. Emeritus having retired in June of this year.  He will be District Supt. until District Assembly when a new D. S. will be elected.  Dr. Johnson gave a few brief remarks.  After that, veteran's names and pictures in their uniforms were shown on the screen.  Pastor Doug then introduced the "Calvary Church of the Nazarene Men's Quartet" to sing for us.  They sang several songs, some with the congregation joining in.  One song was a favorite of many people titled "Amazing Grace."  After the offering was taken the Quarter sang again.  Pastor Doug then preached a sermon from the series of sermons that he is preaching "The Power of One".  The title of this morning's sermon was "Friendship".  After Pastor Doug's sermon, the quartet sang another song.  Dr. Johnson dismissed the service with prayer.

At 8:00 p.m. skies are partly cloudy with a temperature of 62 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
