GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

30 A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body;
jealousy is like cancer in the bones.
Proverbs 14:30(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

(God said to Noah) 14 "When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, 15 and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life. 16 When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.”  Genesis 9:14-16(New Living Translation).

NOTES

Today has been a sunny day in Moore, Oklahoma, with high temperatures in the mid seventies.  I attended church this morning.  The summary of the Worship Service will be in a diffent paragraph.  I had lunch at home and then I sat out in the back yard with the cats for about an hour. My children didn't make it over today but they will visit me tomorrow.  If you would ever like to be dropped from the Good Things, send me an e-mail.  I will still love you with no questions asked.

Our Worship Service this morning opened with the congregation singing "Little Is Much When God Is In It."  I would like to include the words to that song in the Good Things tonight.  Here it is, sing it if you know the melody:

Little Is Much When God Is In It

In the harvest field now ripened
There’s a work for all to do;
Hark! the voice of God is calling
To the harvest calling you.

Refrain

Little is much when God is in it!
Labor not for wealth or fame.
There’s a crown—and you can win it,
If you go in Jesus’ Name.

In the mad rush of the broad way,
In the hurry and the strife,
Tell of Jesus’ love and mercy,
Give to them the Word of Life.

Refrain

Does the place you’re called to labor
Seem too small and little known?
It is great if God is in it,
And He’ll not forget His own.

Refrain

Are you laid aside from service,
Body worn from toil and care?
You can still be in the battle,
In the sacred place of prayer.

Refrain

When the conflict here is ended
And our race on earth is run,
He will say, if we are faithful,
“Welcome home, My child—well done!”

Refrain

Other songs sung by the congregation in Praise and Worship in song were: "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow", "Sound the Battle Cry", and "Tell It To Jesus."  A lady by the name of Donitta Gee led the singing today.  After the singing, Pastor Doug Vernier led in prayer.  The offering was taken while Rachel Vernier (pastor and Donna' daughter) played the offertory on the piano.  A special song was sung by Betty Adams titled "Jesus Is Coming Soon."  Pastor Doug's sermon was "The Power Of One-Prayer: Nehemiah" with Scripture from the Book of Nehemiah.  The service was closed with the singing of "Sweet Hour of Prayer" sung by the congregation.

The cats are fine.  My sleeping buddies this afternoon were Leo and Rascal.

At 7:30 p.m. we have clear skies with a temperature of 56 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
