GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

7 When people’s lives please the Lord,
even their enemies are at peace with them.
- Proverbs 16:7(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

30 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.  - Ephesians 4:30(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

Duty is ours; results are God's.
- John Quincy Adams -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

You don't get harmony when everybody sings the same note.
- From Reminisce Magazine

Confidence is keeping your chin up; overconfidence is sticking your neck out.
- From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES

Today has been a cool cloudy day with high temperatures in the mid fifties.  I attended church this morning at Southpointe
Church of The Nazarene.  I will report on our church service in a different paragraph.  I fixed a tv dinner for lunch.  I took a nap early this afternoon.  My son, Ron, came to visit with me for a couple of hours this evening.  I almost decided to drop off from the Good Things the addressees I have not heard from in a month or more but then I decided that the Scriptures, the quotes and the thoughts that I send out might be helping someone even though I don't hear from them.  So everyone is still receiving Good Things unless you ask to be taken off the mailing list.

The cats are fine.  Happy and Rascal were both so glad to see Ron when he came in.  The cats are staying in much of the time when the weather is cool.

For our congregational singing this morning in church we sang "Let All The People PraIse Him", "Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus" and "I Must Tell Jesus".  For a prayer chorus we sang "Gentle Shepherd".   Pastor Doug Vernier prayed the prayer just before the offering was taken.  A lady sang a special song titled "Beulah Land".  I don't think that I have met the lady but she certainly did a wonderful job on the special song.  The title of Pastor Doug's sermon was "As Long As It Is Called Today" with Scripture from Hebrews 3:12-19 and Hebrews 4:1-13.  At the close of the service an invitation hymn was sung titled "Just As I Am."  Some people went to the altar to pray.  After prayer around the altar the service was dismissed.

At 9:15 p.m. skies are cloudy with a temperature of 49 degrees.  Have a pleasant Monday!  I will see you next time.

In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
