Free Markets
America developed the best free market system in the world! It elevated this nation to the highest standard in world. It has had a self adjusting mechanism built in which at times has caused some economic downturns. But it is basically sound. That is, until the government intervened to push housing ownership for everyone who wanted it. The Clinton Administration especially encouraged the housing push. And under the aegis of Rep. Barney Frank of Massacusetts, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac led the field of wild undisciplined lending. Banks were pressured to lend to people who were in no way capable of carrying a mortgage. The huge Bubble had to burst! Unfortunately it was in the last couple of years of the Bush Administration and it got the big share of the blame even though it had attempted to put some curbs on Fanne Mae and Freddie Mac. Now the Obama Administration is taking over the banking industry and moving into the manufacturing industry by its restrictions and continued "bailout" of those who had no business borrowing in the first place and the Auto industry to the benefit of the UAW. It is also moving into the medical industry. With promises of better healthcare for everyone but without any justifiable or viable means of doing that. While regulation is necessary and providing healthcare for those who cannot afford it is a good goal the whole system of good healthcare is put in jeopardy by massive take over by the government. It has been noted by government analysis that the plan offered by Congress will cost trillions and only cover a fraction of those who are not currently covered.
Government GREED for money and power is far more invasive and pervasive in society to the detriment of all but the "chosen" few. You can see what Socialism, Communism, and some form of pervasive Welfare State has done in other countries around the world. Freedom becomes a meaningless word under bureaucratic redtape and regulation.
We are all too fast heading in that direction! We need a significant correction before it is too late! This nation needs to STOP the government power grab that is unprecedented in its history! WAKE UP America!
