Good Things
Wednesday, November 26, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him: if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. - Romans 12:19-21(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
171 May my lips overflow with praise, for you teach me your decrees. 172 May my tongue sing of your word, for all your commands are righteous. 173 May your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts. 174 I long for your salvation, O Lord, and your law is my delight. - Psalm 119:171-174(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Failure in a cause that will finally triumph is better than success in a cause that will finally fail. - Harold E. Kohn -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Love is a game that two can play - and both can win. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Peace is the world smiling. - From Reminisce Magazine -
The cross of Christ bridges the gap we could never cross on our own. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 58 degrees. Stephanie and her son, Dillon, came early this morning and gave my house an excellent cleaning. I had lunch with Charley and Pastor JT and his wife Dianne. I went to the post office. This afternoon I went to Brent Thetfords Barber Shop and got a haircut. I lay down for my nap at 4:00 p.m. and thought that I would get up at 5:00 p.m. but I slept until 6:00 p.m. with Smokey. By that time it was dark so I gave the cats their treats inside this evening. Thanks for your notes and thanks for reading the Good Things. I have an important prayer request in the next paragraph.
Pray for Joe Schoggins (son of Darren and Kathy). He was in a bad accident this afternoon. Here is the latest report that I have from Dianne, Pastor JT's wife.
I just heard from Jt and the initial report is not good. Joe is at ST. Johns Neuo ICU. By all indications,Joe does not appear to have any brain activity. The Dr. will rerun the test in 12 hours, but they are not very hopeful. They are calling in the family tonight so they can spend some time with him.
My cats are fine. Lucy, Rascal and Smokey are in the den with me at present. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!!! Everett.
