Good Things

Saturday, August 9, 2014

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? - Romans 6:1-2(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:

(The Apostle Paul wrote) 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39(New International Version).

A QUOTE:

God calls believers to show their love and gratefulness for Him in their good works of hospitality and compassion. - Anne Cetas -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:

Blessed are those who give without remembering and take without forgetting. - From Reminisce Magazine -

God's Word is the true source of comfort. - From Our Daily Bread -

Wear a smile and have friends, wear a scowl and have wrinkles. - From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES:

Today has been a cloudy day with a high temperature of 90 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office. I took a nap without a cat today although Itty Bitty did come to the bed and give me a little loving before I went to sleep. I had a call from my daughter, June, in Hawaii around 2:00 p.m. They were in Hilo to buy a chain saw to cut up the fallen trees in their yard. None of their neighbors have electricity yet. They were going to buy a generator to produce power but the stores had all sold out. She still can't call on her cell phone from home but called while they were in Hilo, which is about 25 miles from their house.

The Lawrence Welk program was not on OETA tonight since they are having Augustfest, raising money for the coming year. They had a program with Daniel O'Donnell, the Irish singer, who is one of my favorites. He is a young man but only elderly people were in attendance at his program since he sings the older classic songs. He closed the program with a beautiful rendition of "How Great Thou Art" which really blessed my heart. I put food out for the cats at around 7:05 p.m. Thanks for writing to me and thanks for reading the Good Things. The Scripture verses are the most important and my notes are the least important.

The cats are fine. Lucy, Tony and Smokey are the ones with me now but Emmy, Leo and Rascal have been around recently. Some of my cats check on me quite often.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.Everett
