Good Things

Sunday, March 16, 2014

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. - 1 Timothy 6:10-11(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:

17 He (Jesus) is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. - Colossians 1:17(New International Version).

A QUOTE:

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. - Jim Elliot -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:

A mistake is evidence that someone tried to do something. - From Reminisce Magazine -

Because God is in control, we have nothing to fear. - From Our Daily Bread -

Digging a hole is the only job where you can start at the top. - From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES:

Today has been a cloudy day with a strong wind from the north direction. The temperature at present is 39 degrees. I attended Worship Services this morning. We had a wonderful service as usual with the singing, testimonies and Pastor JT's sermon titled "What is the Cross Doing With You?" I had lunch at home. I took a long nap this afternoon. I am not sure how many of my nine cats napped with me. Around 7:30 p.m. I put the garbage out on the street for pick up in the morning. Thanks for your emails and thanks to everyone for reading the Good Things.

I would like to welcome Teri Black to the Good Things. Teri attends the same church that I attend. Welcome to the Good Things, Teri, and share them with your husband, George.

My nine cats are fine. You that have been with the Good Things for a while know how much my cats mean to me. Four of the cats were with us before my dear wife passed away and the other five have joined me since I lost my wife. I used to send pictures of them with the Good Things but I don't know how to do that any more and I am too old to learn. I don't know how I would have made it without my cats the past six years. My cats know their names and most of them respond to their names. I don't call my cats with the "kitty, kitty, kitty," that a lot of people do. I simply call out "come on whatever their name is" or "come on kitties" and they will come. The names of my cats are Beau, Emmy, Friendly, Itty Bitty, Leo, Lucy, Rascal, Smokey and Tony. They are my family and mean a lot to me as well as my human family that I don't get to see very often.

Have a nice Monday to start the week.

Everett. Keep Thinking The Good Thoughts~!!!
