Good Things

by Everett Christian, McAlester, OK

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

(Jesus said) 27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." - Matthew 5:27-28(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city." - Revelation 22:14(New International Version).

A QUOTE
I owe all my success in life to having been always a quarter of an hour beforehand. - Lord Nelson -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Have confidence that if you have done a little thing well, you can do a bigger thing well, too. - Storey -
The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials. - Chinese Proverb -

A FACT ABOUT DOGS
Commercial pet foods gained popularity during World War II when, for the first time, large numbers of women were working jobs outside of the home. This was when the first frozen dinners for people were introduced as well. - From DOGFANCY Calendar -

A FACT ABOUT CATS
Chronic ear infections are a leading cause of deafness. Watch for early warnings like odor or discharge. Don't put anything in your cat's ears that is not approved by your veterinarian, and treat ear infections immediately before they become chronic. - From CATFANCY Calendar -

NOTES
Today has been a cloudy day and turning cooler throughout the day. After the time change last night I got up late, it was my usual time but an hour earlier. I really didn't have time for my pain pill to take effect and get ready for church so I missed the Worship Services this morning. I had my clocks run forward but I don't use an alarm clock so I woke up at my usual time which was an hour late (I think but I may be all confused) . I stayed home all day doing my usual Sunday things, a nap this afternoon with Tony as usual. I think the Good Things will go out correctly tonight as I think that I know what was causing them to get messed up. I sent out a completed copy to last night's Good Things a little earlier this evening. Since last night's messed up Good Things I have heard from June(my daughter), Alice, Debra, Michelle, Billy and Burlene. Before the end of the month I think that I will run a survey to see if everyone is receiving the Good Things and if they want to continue them.
The cats are fine. I have seen them all this evening but none are with me now. Lucy, the stray, came in this afternoon and visited for a long time, even getting in my lap.
Have a nice Monday to start the week.
Keep Thinking The Good Thoughts. Everett.
