Good Things
by Everett Christian, McAlester, OK>br />GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. - Psalm 136:1(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(The Lord said concerning Jesus) 1“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. 2 He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. 3 A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; 4 he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his teaching the islands will put their hope.” - Isaiah 42:1-4(New International Version).
A QUOTE
How many observe Christ's birthday! How few, His precepts! O! 'tis easier to keep holidays than commandments. - Ben Franklin -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
If people talk negatively about you, live so that no one will believe them. - From Don't Wait for Your Ship to Come In. . . Swim Out to Meet It! -
Old age is like a car. Paint can conceal the exterior, but the lines reveal the age. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 53 degrees and a low temperature this morning of 18 degrees. I saw Charley and Bill at noon time. I went by the post office and then the Family Dollar Store. At 1:45 p.m. I took Friendly to the vet. She was still doing alright but I wanted the vet to check her to make sure that nothing serious was wrong with her. Doctor Sewell could not find anything wrong with her. She said Friendly might have eaten something that upset her stomach. I did notice the day she got sick that the cats had caught a Eurasian Collared Dove and had eaten part of it. I buried the remainder of the bird. If any bird lovers want to criticize my cats for catching birds, just remember that God made the birds and also the cats and each have their own unique way of doing things. When I can get to the cats while the birds are still alive I will get the bird and let it go. I have even been known to take wounded birds to the vet. Some birds even catch other birds. I took a nap around 3:00 p.m. with Tony. At 4:30 p.m. I took treats outside for the cats. I watched a Billy Graham Crusade at 6:00 p.m. from Sheffield, England taped in 1985. Since the last Good Things I have heard from Alice, Geneva, Tiyan, Gaetano and Burlene. Thanks so much for your e-mails.
The cats are fine. Rascal is asleep in the recliner. The others are asleep elsewhere. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Thursday!
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.
