EZRA

After reading from Ezra this morning; my thoughts were centered on

Humility;
Worship of the one true God,
The consequences of sin
Recognition of our failures
Asking forgiveness
Honesty in approaching God
Fasting
Prayer
Lent
Faith in God's promises
Mercy
Grace

Thanksgiving

In the words of Ezra

" our God protects all those worship him,
but his fierce anger rages against those who abandon him.
So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our
God would take care of us and he heard our prayer."

Thanks for sharing this, Gillena.  I love Ezra and Nehemiah. They are prophetic books in a way.  They tell of the priority events of Daniel's (chapter nine) seventy-sevens prophecy.   They are the beginning of the end.  In the Persian King Cyrus' release of the Jewish exiles from  Medo-Persian bondage, we have the time stage set for the coming of the Messiah and the eventual coming of the KIng of Kings.  Let us both hope and pray that we of the Church Age (while Israel is on hold) labor hard to further the coming kingdom of our Savior and Lord.    God is wise; God is worthy; God is waiting.  Go with God every step of the way.  RAP

In your own words, this is my belief.  In humility, I worship the one true God, recognizing the consequences of my sin and my failures, I ask honestly for forgiveness.  Approaching my  Creator/Savior with fasting, prayer and continual service and having growing faith in His promised mercy, grace and love,  I wait with daily thanksgiving for His blessed hope of salvation.
