Good Things
by Everett Christiam, McAlester, OKGOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

A QUOTE
If, at the end, all that can be said of you is that you were kind - it is enough. - Peter Gray -
A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER
Hope for the best, get ready for the worst, and then take what God chooses to send. - From Proverbs for Daily Living -
CAT POETRY
I received this note today from Michelle in Hollywood, California.
Today I'm leading a poetry writing workshop, and I chose different topics. One is animals (of course) However, I didn't find the poem below until this morning. Mary Oliver is a favorite poet of mine. I hope you enjoy this cat poem by her. Blessings to you, your family & friends, & your furkids. ~Michelle~
Morning
By Mary Oliver,br /> Salt shining behind its glass cylinder. Milk in a blue bowl. The yellow linoleum. The cat stretching her black body from the pillow. The way she makes her curvaceous response to the small, kind gesture. Then laps the bowl clean. Then wants to go out into the world where she leaps lightly and for no apparent reason across the lawn, then sits, perfectly still, in the grass. I watch her a little while, thinking: what more could I do with wild words? I stand in the cold kitchen, bowing down to her. I stand in the cold kitchen, everything wonderful around me.
NOTES
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 55 degrees and a low temperature this morning of 34 degrees. My housecleaning lady came at 11:15 a.m. and cleaned my house while I had lunch with Charley and Bill. After lunch I went by Family Dollar Store, the post office and Memory Gardens cemetery before I came home. I took a nap this afternoon without a cat napping with me. At about 4:45 p.m. I went to Little Caesars Pizza and picked up a pizza to eat for my supper tonight and lunch tomorrow. I took treats outside to the cats about 5:45 p.m. but it was too cool to sit out with them. Since last night's Good Things I have heard from Alice, Geneva and Michelle. I always appreciate your e-mails.
The cats are fine. I have seen all of them this evening. Rascal is asleep in the recliner at present.
I hope everyone has a Wonderful Sunday!
I will see you next time,
In Christian Love, Everett.
