Pray for America Group
Please Forgive us Dear Lord
Holy Father, in a world where
so many are hungry,
You have given us food in abundance;
In a world where so many are hurting,
You offer to bind up our wounds;
In a world where so many are lonely,
You offer friendship to every heart;
In a world longing for peace,
You offer hope.
Yet, we are so stubborn and resistant.
Have mercy upon us, Lord.
Our nation is at a crossroads this year;
we look to you to be our strength and shield.
Please give us the guidance to elect one who will honor you
and to respond to the wisdom from above
so that our hope may be renewed and our blessings be treasured.
In Jesus name.
In the Spirit of the Above Prayer
On the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month prayer requests for
our nation will be prayed for by a group of members at our church in Illinois. We are praying for our leaders and events occuring in our country that you may, or may not know about. You are invited to join us in spirit from 5:30 to 6:30 PM on these Sunday evenings.
I will keep posting our prayer list so you will be on the same page. These are the things we pray for, but not limited to just these items.
If you have any pray for america requests please post them here.

Pray for people to make the Values Voter Pledge
Dr. James Dobson and Focus on the Family Action are seeking to engage 1 million citizens to take the Values Voter Pledge. The Values Voter Pledge is a statement by citizens across the nation who are committing to vote only for candidates who uphold the highest pro-life, pro-faith and pro-family principles.
Pray for hearts to be changed in
The outrage continues to build against the City of Berkeley, California – and so does the momentum regarding legislation on Capitol Hill – important legislation that’s moving forward thanks to some key legislators, and the support of many Christians.
Pray for Sexual Abstinence Education
Today, people are faced with a raging plague of sex related problems. Pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and rape statistics are at all-time highs. Even so, today's society encourages sexual activity, and young people must have a compelling reason to commit to sexual abstinence.
Pray Against Violence and Death
Pray for the members of the community of
God's loving hand.
As a recent spate of school shootings has pointed to increasing violence in our schools, pray against violence and death, asking God to invade our nation’s schools, colleges and universities at every level with a spirit of His peace and love. Pray that those who would commit violence against students will get help and will have their troubles dealt with in appropriate ways

Pray that God will Protect Our
Church Freedoms
The ability of churches to define their own doctrine, determine their own leadership and set their own mission policies should be free of government interference. The courts must continue to note, as the Supreme Court has held, that “decisions by the governing bodies of religious organizations on matters related to doctrine, faith, or church governance and discipline are not reviewable by civil courts.” This area of law is known as the “ecclesiastical abstention doctrine” and it “prohibits secular courts from predetermining the correctness of a decision by a religious tribunal on issues of canon law, religious doctrine, or church governance.
Give thanks for the members of our military who serve with dedication and faithfulness, dealing with difficulty and danger night and day. Pray for their encouragement and their protection under God’s mighty wings of care.
