Good Things

by Everett Christian, McAlester, OK

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. - Ephesians 5:31-33(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. - Ephesians 4:29-32(New International Version.

A QUOTE
I'm learning that you cannot make anyone love you. But you can work on being lovable. - Phil Callaway -

A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER
Gossip travels freely, but good news has to be helped along. - From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES
I am getting the Good Things out early tonight so I can watch the presidential debate. I could have left them off completely but maybe someone is looking for them. Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 82 degrees and a low of 52 degrees. I didn't see Charley today as he had a luncheon at his church. I had lunch at home. At around 1:30 p.m. I went for a haircut at Buck's Barber Shop. I then went by the vet's office and paid the bill which was much less than I had anticipated. They said they cut back on the bill quite a lot which I appreciated. Michelle Bond, a technician that works there said they had tried so hard to save Little Girl and had gotten a little attached to her. She has 6 cats at her home. I am still a little sad but my tears have dried by now. I also stopped by the post office and Country Mart store. If anyone had problems with last night's Good Things, I could resend them to you.
The cats are fine. I had treats and fellowship with them around 5:30 p.m.
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.
