Advent Approaches
Advent approaches
We have died to sin, because Christ died on the cross at
To acknowledge the ascension of our Jesus then, is to lifted up our minds, our thoughts and be centered on Heaven. Now, Heaven becomes our reality, our goal; to share in the glory of The Lord Jesus Christ who reigns on high.
The reality of our life here on earth, will not take priority over the true reality of Heaven. Heaven is our reality.
Living our new life; we are clothed anew; wearing new raiments of our heavenly reality. Clothed thus are we then in these new raiments, which carry an aspect of renewal. More and more we will be renewed.
Ours is not a nature of idolatry; greedy for the things of this world. We are now greedy; for the knowledge and wisdom of God.
Living as Christians, followers of Christ; full of His Holy Spirit, we are called to be Holy, to be apart for God’s glory to shine forth from us; to shine through our garments of tenderness, kindness, forgiveness, humility, gentleness, patience; relying on God’s mercy and His grace.
Most important, our fashion statement should read Love; for love is what will qualify us as people of God. Our Father in Heaven gave us his only son Jesus Christ and through Him and by Him we are saved. Our families are precious to us as we eat drink live breath and give good counsel; but it is really all for the glory of God.
God gave us his son in an earthly family, through prophecy of generations in His plan of salvation. A shoot springs from the stock of Jesse Is 1:1
Advent approaches; a season focusing on our heritage, and our family line as Christians; a time of anticipation and joy. As we exchange greetings between families and friends; family is very much in focus; those of us in caring families, want more so now to renew our care and joy; those of us away from our families, hanker more so now for the company and closeness of our families; those of us without a family, will hanker more for that experience of family. Whatever our short comings, whatever our challenges, we look forward to the coming and the birth of our Saviour Jesus born into The Holy Family of Joseph and Mary; and again in our hearts, renewing our hope in Him with joy. Because of God’s plan of salvation; we are saved in Christ, and belong in His family; and we can call upon God our Father through Christ Jesus with songs, with psalms, with prayer, with praise all done in faith.
