Good Things

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." - Matthew 6:14-15(New King James Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. - 1 Peter 1:3-5(New King James Version).

A QUOTE
God came to us because God wanted to join us on the road, to listen to our stories, and to help us realize that we are not walking in circles but moving toward the house of peace and joy. - Thomas Merton -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
A true test of patience is not minding being put on hold. - From Reminisce Magazine
- Rather than living a life of bitterness, rage, and other bad attitudes, the follower of Christ is commanded to live a life of compassion and forgiveness. - From Reflecting God -

NOTES
The day started with fog but soon became clear and we had a beautiful day. High temperature was 69 degrees and the low temperature was 37 degrees. Rain is predicted for tomorrow. I had lunch with my brother, Charley, and our friend, Bill. Bobbi was our waitress today. We usually see several people that we know eating at Taco Bob's. I came by the post office and then home. Then I took information for my tax return to Sandy Isenhower's office to have my tax return prepared. I visited with Sandy a few minutes and left the tax information with her. Her husband, Charles Isenhower, has an automobile repair shop next to Sandy's office, so I visited with Charles for a few minutes. I took my nap without a cat but just as I was about to get up, Friendly came to my bed. She doesn't usually sleep with me. I had to get up anyway. At 4:15 p.m. I made a quick trip back to the post office drop box to mail a bill. At 4:45 p.m. I put food and treats outside for the cats. I did a little more shredding of old records this evening. Since the last Good Things I have had e-mails from Michelle and Geneva. Michelle asked about my daughter, June, and husband, Keith, living in Hawaii. They are both doing fine and seem to be enjoying life in Hawaii. I talk with June every night before I go to bed.
The cats are fine. Little Girl and Rascal are asleep here in the den in their usual place. Smokey is also here in the den at present. He just came in from outside. Emmy was in the den a little while ago and got on the desk close by me and meowed two or three times so I went to the kitchen, she followed, so I gave her a little helping of canned food. They don't eat much canned food at a time. Some of my readers might get tired of hearing about my cats all the time but people usually talk about their family and they are my family.
I hope everyone has a nice Friday! I will see you next time.
In Christian Love, Everett.
