Good Things

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus. - Matthew 1:18-24(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” - 1 Peter 5:5(New King James Version).

NOTES
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 56 degrees and a low temperature of 38 degrees. I had lunch with Charley today. Bobbi was our waitress. I went to the post office and then to Walgreens to pick up a couple of prescriptions. Just as I left Walgreens and was headed toward my van I heard someone behind me say "Everett." I turned and it was my dear friend Leela, wife of Steve. We gave each other a big hug and chatted for a few minutes. As I said, Steve and Leela Patterson are dear friends of mine. I took a nap this afternoon with Emmy. At around 4:30 p.m. I made a trip to Country Mart for some items. Today I got in touch with my friend, Darren, who teaches computers at a college. I told him the problem that some people had been having about the text running too far off the page. He sent me an e-mail which I will include at the end of the Good Things. It appears the problem is not anything that I can fix. I do want to know when you have these problems with the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Emmy is now on the desk near my computer for a bite of dry food. She always lets me know when she wants my attention with a meow. Little Girl is lying in the floor in front of the heater. Rascal is in the recliner. Emmy just went to the top of the television set here in the den and is washing her face. Cats wash their face after they eat.
I hope everyone has a nice Saturday! I will see you next time.
In Christian Love, Everett *********************************************************************************************************************************** Here is Darrens letter:
Everett,
The problem is not in your font size or your computer monitor. Your new Windows 7 machine has the latest version of Internet Explorer along with many new features. The problem is more with the person's Internet Browser that they are using, it is not compatible with yours. They are most likely still using Windows XP or an older version of Internet Explorer. I have viewed your e-mails on several computers today including my iPad and I have only had problems viewing it when I used the older version of Internet Explorer. When you type text into your text editor and send it out, the receiving browser, if it is up-to-date compensates for the text wrapping. The person that is receiving the email can use capitibility mode on their computer and it is possible it will fix it. Hope this helps. I do not believe it is your computer.
Thanks Darren
