FROM GRAF TO MALTA AND BACK: HE'S EVERYWHERE & IT'S A PRIVILEGE

"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens you are there. If I make my bed in the depths,
you are there." -Psalm 139:7-8

Last Thursday I was in Malta and spend a part of the afternoon in the
stone grotto where St. Paul was kept following his shipwreck on the
island of Malta (See Acts 28). In one particular moment, it hit me that
I was in the same small room once occupied by the man who wrote more
books of the Bible than any other author. The Epistles of Paul have had
a tremendous impact on my life and his writings and personal ministry
literally changed the world. He was a tremendous spiritual leader and a
spiritual father to millions. I felt it was a real privilege just to be
in the cave where he was once present. As we drove away and I reflected
on that privilege, the Lord used it to remind me of a greater one. The
privilege we have to be in his presence every minute of every day. Paul
was great, but God is greatest and he never leaves, nor forsakes his
people. Sometimes the reality of God's presence escapes us, but he is
always there. May that truth increase the confidence of your faith as
you walk your walk of faith today!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

"It's one thing to say God is everywhere. It's quite another thing to
realize that because you are his child, He's with you everywhere you
go!"
