My Empty Heart

"My Empty Heart"

The tears will flow soon,
Not because she will be his,
only that she used to be, mine;

Selfish it may seem, I carried her small body
in that special place for nine months,
Spoke to her, sang to her,
hopfully made her what she has become today;

When she becomes a mom,
she'll understand the pain so deep within,
The pocket where I tucked her near my heart
is empty ,so the tears must flow,
if only to fill that special place, so vacant;
My empty heart.
