To Be A Red Hatter

A proud member of Red Hat Society
Statesville, NC chapter, CrimsonToppers

-----

My hat's off to all Red Hatters
We all know what really matters
What really matters is nurturing relationships

We do the work when it must be done
We all know the value of having fun
The value of having fun is essential

We gather as a body connected and united
To see each other's smiles, we are delighted
We are delighted by the simple things in life

We support each other with prayers and sisterly love
For all our blessings, we give thanks to our Father above
Our Father above understands our deepest desires

We provide support to our communities
We never shirk from problems or opportunities
Problems or opportunities; we know the difference

We're smart, witty, beautiful and bright
Through us, God shines His heavenly light
His heavenly light illuminates our world

To be a Red Hatter gives us great pleasure and pride
Through thick and thin, by each other's side
By each other's side, come what may

We share a common bond
Our feelings for each other go far beyond fond
Far beyond fond; we love each other

To all of my sisters who wear hats purple or red
I hope you have enjoyed these words I have said
I have said what all of us truly feel

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
