GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(Moses said to Joshua) 8 "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." - Deuteronomy 31:8

NOTES
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 67 degrees. The current temperature is 64 degrees. I attended church this morning. We had our usual wonderful worship service with choruses, hymns and spiritual songs. Pastor JT's sermon was titled "Thy Kingdom Come...Give Us Our Daily Bread..." I had lunch at home. I took my usual lazy afternoon nap with Leo. Rascal came for a little while. I gave the cats their treats at around 6:00 p.m. Thank you for all you do for me. Comments, notes, reading and praying.
The cats are fine. Rascal just came in for a bite of dry food but I think he wants to go back outside. The cats really like the warmer weather. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Monday to start the week.

26 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. - James 1:26(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. - Romans 10:9-10(New International Version).

NOTES
Rain started in our town around 8:00 a.m. today and it is still raining and is expected to continue most of the night. The rain is gentle and not too heavy. High temperature today was 59 degrees and the current temperature is 55 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. Brianna was our waitress today. I went to the post office and then to an auto supply store and had new wiper blades installed on my van. I went to Walgreens to pick up a prescription. I had a nap and Smokey was with me part of the time. I gave the cats their treats around 5:00 p.m. Thanks for reading and writing to me. In the next paragraph is a very important prayer request.
Brianna asks us to pray for Dillan McCoy, a 12 year old boy who was run over by a car last night March 12. He was taken by helicopter to St. Francis hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Last word was that he was off the ventilator but still unconscious. On the return trip the helicopter crashed. One person was killed and two were hospitalized. Please pray for these as well as their families.
The cats are fine. Rascal is on the sofa tonight and I feel a little tired and will rest in my recliner chair. I have seen all the kitties this evening.
Have a nice Saturday,
Everett.

A great prayer
My wife showed me this poem attributed to St Patrick although there is some doubt about its origin. Nevertheless, the poem is filled with the inspiration of a Christian person. I think I may read it every morning before I arise. I thought you might appreciate the poem and perhaps share it with others.I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of creation.
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth with His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion with His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection with His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.
I arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim,
In the obedience of angels,
In the service of archangels,
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In the prayers of patriarchs,
In the predictions of prophets,
In the preaching of apostles,
In the faith of confessors,
In the innocence of holy virgins,
In the deeds of righteous men.
I arise today, through The strength of heaven,
The light of the sun,
The radiance of the moon,
The splendor of fire,
The speed of lightning,
The swiftness of wind,
The depth of the sea,
The stability of the earth,
The firmness of rock.
I arise today, through God's strength to pilot me,
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's host to save me From snares of devils,
From temptation of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
afar and near.
I summon today
All these powers between me and those evils,
Against every cruel and merciless power
that may oppose my body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom,
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul; Christ to shield me today Against poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against wounding,
So that there may come to me an abundance of reward.
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of
the Trinity,
Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of creation.
