Good Things
Friday, January 30, 2015GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(The Lord said to Job) 4 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. 5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? 6 On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone - 7 while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?" - Job 38:4-7(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. - Ephesians 4:29(New International Version).

A NEWS STORY ABOUT CATS
Tampa, Fla. (AP) - Bart the cat was hit by a car, buried and seemingly crawled back from the dead. Earlier this month, a car hit the cat in Tampa. Bart's owner was so distraught, he couldn't stand the thought of burying him, so he asked a neighbor to dig a shallow grave. Five days later, on Jan. 21, a matted and injured Bart emerged, meowing for food. "At first it blew me away," said Dusty Albritton, the neighbor who buried Bart. "All I knew is that this cat was dead and 'Pet Sematary' is real." Bart had a broken jaw, a ruptured eye and a torn-up face. He was dehydrated and hungry but alive. Owner Ellis Hutson didn't know what to say. "It was unbelievable," he said. (From The Mcalester News-Capital)
NOTES
Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 57 degrees. I had lunch by myself. Charley had to make a trip to Muskogee, Oklahoma, 60 miles north of McAlester. Tiersten was my waitress today. I went to the post office, then to the Family Dollar store and then home. I took a nap with Emmy with others joining us part of the time. I fed the cats their treats at around 5:30 p.m. Thanks for writing to me and thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Rascal is with me in the den in his usual place. The others are elsewhere. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Saturday,
Evere

Wednesday, January 28, 2015GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord, 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does. - James 1:5-8(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
17 He (the Lord) will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea. - Psalm 102:17(New International Version).

NOTES
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 77 degrees. Stephanie came around 8:30 a.m. and when she left in a little over two hours my house was shining. I then had lunch with Charley and Bill. Today was the birthday of one of the waitresses and we had some of her birthday cake. Happy Birthday, Brianna! I went to the post office. I came home and took my usual afternoon nap with Emmy. I gave the cats their treats around 5:15 p.m. Thanks for everything, notes, prayers and reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. I have been enjoying the presence of Emmy and Rascal the past few minutes but they just went outside. Leo just came in, had a bite of dry food and went back outside. I have seen all of the kitties this evening.
Have a nice Thursday,
Everett.

My daughter, June, who lives in Hawaii, is doing fine in spite of hurricanes and lava flows. The lava is about five miles from their house and is about at a standstill at present. June looks forward to the Good Things every night to see how I am getting along. My daughter, Treva, and son, Ron, also read the Good Things, as well as grandchildren, Bryant, Christopher and Carissa as well as their spouses.
The cats are fine. Lucy and Rascal are in the den with me at present. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a nice Wednesday,
Everett.
