Good Things
Saturday, July 26, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
21 My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; 22 they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. 23 Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; 24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. - Proverbs 3:21-24(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all - how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? - Romans 8:32(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
The Word of God, which guards our hearts and guides our steps, is worth sharing with others. - David McCasland -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Don't sit up and take notice if you're going to keep on sitting. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Get rid of unpleasant duties by discharging them promptly. - From Reminisce Magazine -
We don't need to put our house in order before Jesus comes in; He puts it in order after we let Him in. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been a hot humid day with a high temperature of 96 degrees but feeling hotter because of the high humidity. Kathy cleaned my house and Darren and she mowed my lawn while I had lunch with Charley and Pastor JT. I went to the post office and to Memory Gardens cemetery. More graves are being added every week. I took a nap this afternoon. Smokey was with me when I went to sleep but had gone elsewhere when I awoke. At about 5:50 p.m. I went to Domino's Pizza and picked up my meals for this evening and tomorrow. I put treats outside for the cats at around 6:30 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. I watched the Lawrence Welk program from 1973. This one was "Down on The Farm" and had some wonderful selections about farm life. It was especially good. If you live in Oklahoma or nearby you can watch this program tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 p.m. on OETA. In my opinion the Lawrence Welk show is the best secular program on television. Thanks for your notes and thanks for reading the Good Things. I stay inside as much as possible during this hot humid weather. It is 86 degrees in my city at the present time.
The cats are fine. Rascal is on a desk near me. Emmy and Leo just came in and Tony just went outside. I have seen all the cats this evening.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. Everett

NOTES:
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 93 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office and then to the Petsense store. I took a nap with Smokey. A little after 3:00 p.m., I got up from my nap, went out and got a haircut. At around 7:00 p.m. I put treats outside for the cats. I did two loads of laundry this evening, one light and one dark. I appreciate your emails. I hear from Burlene, Geneva and Michelle real often. I hear from others at different times. Most of all I appreciate each of you for reading the Good Things. If they help you in any way that makes me think the Good Things are worth the time it takes me to do them.
The cats are fine. They all have left me to myself at present but they will be back. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Saturday. Everett

God can change our blunders into wonders. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today started with sunshine. I had lunch with Charley, Bill and Bill's friend, Jeff. After lunch I went to the post office, then by Walgreen's to pick up some prescriptions. I took a nap with Smokey. The day was very hot with a high temperature of 94 degrees but the heat index (the way it actually feels) was over 100 degrees. I got up from my nap around 3:00 p.m. The skies were cloudy. In an hour or so the wind started blowing strong from the north direction and then the rains came. I guess it rained for about an hour or so. I received a third of an inch of rain at my house. The rain is now over for tonight. I didn't put treats outside for the cats this evening. They were inside due to the wet weather so I gave them their treats inside. I missed the Good Things last night because I had some paper work to do. I still have paper work to do but I thought I had better get the Good Things out tonight. Thanks for reading the Good Things and thanks for your notes. Let me know if you would like to be dropped from the Good Things.
The cats are fine. None are with me at present but Rascal just left out. I have seen all nine of them this evening.
Have a nice Thursday. Everett

Good Things
Monday, July 21, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. - Hebrews 4:14-16(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
9 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him"- 10 but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit. - 1 Corinthians 2:9-10(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
If each of us were to live as a reflection of God's love, perhaps there would be a lot less bedlam. - Bill Crowder -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Lord, today I thank You for all of the little things. One day I may look back and realize - they were the big things. - From Every Good Thing -
Our greatest riches are the riches we have in Christ. - From Our Daily Bread -
The cost of doing something is usually less than the cost of doing nothing. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 91 degrees. It felt hotter due to the high humidity. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office and then to the Petsense store for canned cat food. At 1:30 p.m. I went to the dentist. Around 3:00 p.m. I lay down for my nap. My cat, Emmy, napped with me today. At around 6:15 p.m. I put treats outside for the cats. Thanks to each one for your notes and thanks to everyone for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Smokey is the only one with me at present. He is lying on a lamp table. Rascal has been around as well as Emmy, Leo, Lucy and Tony. I have seen all of my cats this evening.
