Brought to You by the Letter "P"man...
a quasi-cosmic pluripotential
propagated by limitless recombinations of progenitor peptides
fraught with hazards biologic, environmental,
political, financial, spiritual
tossed into cycles of growth and decay
molded by millions of minions of current culture
the miracle is...
this precious piece of protoplasm seems
providentially propelled
to seek its roots
find the truth
discover a way to slip the noose
of prosaic repetition
then search for hints of symphony
from its DNA musician
Good Things
Sunday, May 4, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. - James 3:13(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. - James 1:2-4(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
We can't undo yesterday, but we can act today to influence tomorrow. - David McCasland -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
I wish for you freedom from regrets and bitterness and trying to settle scores. - From I Wish For You -
Personality can open doors, but only character can keep them open. - From Reminisce Magazine -
The design of creation points to the Master Designer. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been a sunny day with a high of 93 degrees for McAlester, Oklahoma, according to the Internet. I attended Worship Services this morning. We had a wonderful service with choruses, hymns and spiritual songs. Pastor JT's sermon was titled "Transformational Living: Let the Healing Begin!" I had lunch at home. I had my afternoon nap with Emmy. I put food outside for the animals at around 6:00 p.m. and sat with them for a few minutes. I had my evening meal and then I put the garbage on the street for pick up in the morning. Thanks to everyone who reads the Good Things and thanks for your emails and comments.
The cats are fine. None are with me at present but Rascal just left about five minutes ago. I have seen all the kitties this evening.
Have a nice Monday to start the week. Everett

A Mother’s Love…How precious is the love of a mother’s heart!
Even as a child. It’s there from the start…
A mother’s love knows no boundary or limit.
It’s often shown by how much the mother gives it!
Whether her children are
young or growing old… And whatever circumstances in life may unfold…
Her love is continually a solid foundation…
That can’t be removed, torn or shaken.
Her love is what is a “guiding force…”
Even if her children’s lives stray “off course.”
I’m thankful for the love my mother’s given…
It’s surely influenced the way I’ve been livin’!
To all of our mothers across our great nation…
May we show them our love and appreciation!
Their love has stood and endured the test of time…
I’m so glad that one of them is MINE!

Good Things
Saturday, May 3, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
(Jesus said) 33 "No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light." - Luke 11:33(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
1 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. - Isaiah 59:1(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Acting with grace and kindness toward others is one of the best ways to point people to God. - Dave Branon -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
It's impossible to wring our hands when they are folded before God in prayer. - From Our Daily Bread -
May you believe that God can breathe new life into your dreams and fill your days with second chances. - From I Wish For You -
You can never make your dreams come true by oversleeping. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 85 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office. In early afternoon I went to Country Mart Store for a few items. I took a nap this afternoon with Tony. At around 5:25 p.m. I went to Kentucky Fried Chicken for some food to bring home for my evening meal and tomorrow. At 6:00 p.m. I put food and treats outside for the animals. Around 7:15 p.m., my cousin, Audie, her daughter, Sherry, her granddaughter, Wendy, and Wendy's two children (a girl and a boy) came to visit for a few minutes. They live at Moore, Oklahoma. They left at 8:00 p.m. Thanks for reading the Good Things. Thanks for your emails. I get lots of nice emails. I just have to share one with you tonight that makes me want to keep doing the Good Things. It is from Gail and I will leave it at the end of the Good Things.
The cats are fine. As usual, Rascal is with me and is asleep on the desk beside me. I have seen all of the cats this evening.
I hope everyone has a Wonderful Sunday. Everett.
Here is Gail's letter:
Hi Everett,
You don't do much! Well lets see, you check in on family and friends and show kindness by visiting with them and others so their days are a little brighter. You don't neglect the things in life that have to be done, even if you don't want too. You care for your kitties in a way that no others could, after all you took in Lucy when no one else would. You feed half the neighborhood every evening. And then after all the errands, caring others and self and God's creatures, you sit down, and research God's Words and put together Good Things, send them out to share His Word to all of us that need it so badly. And you say you didn't do much today. No Everett, you do a lot. It might not be a rigorous physical labor as you did were used to, but it is a much needed labor of love that you do for man and creature. You can never do too much praising God, spreading His Word or caring for his creations.
Thanks for all that you do. Have a great weekend, Gail

Jane E. Pearce
RosesI bought roses today-
tall proud ladies in pink
that know no fear,
that know no grief,
only the beauty of God's hand.
These ladies comfort me
in my world now changed forever
in the twinkling of broken glass,
debris, fire, and hate.
Inert in their beauty, they whisper
that some things stay the same.
Yes, I needed some roses today.
