Praise comes naturally when you count your blessings. - From Our Daily Bread -
When the mouth stumbles, it is worse than the foot. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been a mostly sunny day with a high temperature of 54 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office to pick up my mail. I then went to Walmart for my weekly supplies. I took a nap with Smokey this afternoon. I put food outside for the animals at around 6:10 p.m. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
Tomorrow afternoon I plan to attend a funeral for DeWayne Kennon, age 58. My son, Ron, will be a pall bearer. DeWayne and Ron have been friends since high school days. They played music together in a band when they were teenagers. The cats are fine. Rascal is in the recliner chair as usual. Tony just came in and is eating dry food on a desk near me. Several of the cats eat at different times on that desk. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a nice Friday. Everett.

Wednesday, February 26, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. - Colossians 3:12-14(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. - Romans 14:19(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
With our quiet deeds and words, let us point others to the light. - Anne Cetas -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Don't let prayer be your last recourse in time of need, make it your first. - From Our Daily Bread -
It takes a moment to make a friend; it takes a lifetime to be one. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 37 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office for my mail. I went by Sandy Isenhower's CPA Office and picked up my tax return. I then went to the Petsense store for some canned cat food. I took a nap with Beau and Smokey and later Friendly joined us. I put food outside for the outside animals at 6:00 p.m. I am gradually getting better I think. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Rascal is asleep in the recliner chair. Lucy is sitting in the floor. Emmy just came in and is on a desk near me eating dry food. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Thursday. Everett.

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:

We are not here to see through each other but to see each other through. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been a cloudy day with a high temperature of 48 degrees. I am feeling better today so I had lunch with Charley at Taco Bob's. I then went to the post office and then home. I had a long nap with Beau and Emmy. I think Rascal, Smokey and Tony were on the bed at different times. As I said, I am getting a little better every day. I had so many nice emails wanting me to continue with the Good Things if I could that I just have to continue them as long as I feel like doing them. I would like to share all the nice notes that I received but that is not possible. I will share one at the end of the Good Things. I have had a lot of time just to think during the past four days and I think the Lord has been speaking to me. I have been complaining too much about my age and my situation in life and feeling sorry for myself. I will do better from now own. The Lord has left me here for a reason and maybe the Good Things are a part of that reason. I love everyone and I don't have an enemy as far as I am concerned. If I am anyone's enemy I am sorry that I did or said something that caused it. If anyone reading this tonight has anything against me I ask your forgiveness and I will do all within my power to make things right. I will share a note later from one of my former pastor's who helped me a lot when I was just getting started in the Church of The Nazarene.
The cats are fine. Each one has their own way of showing their love to me and they do it in different ways. They trust me with their lives to do everything in my power to love them and protect them. One or two of the cats has a problem with Beau and chases him when they get a chance. Beau knows that when he is in bed with me that I will protect him.
Have a nice Wednesday.
Everett.
As always I will leave you with a dear lady's quote who is now in heaven: "Keep Thinking The Good Thoughts!!!"
Here is the note from Rev. Tom Gilham, a former pastor:
Dear friend, I was in the hospital because I fell and broke some ribs and my Humerous arm bone. Then I was in Physical Therapy for a month. I am sorry you don't feel well. I will be 90 on 5/11/14 but i want you to know how much the GOOD THINGS mean to me. It keeps me in touch . Thank you so much ,but i understand about the good things and how much you put in them. I would miss them immensely.. Slow down a bit. and take care of yourself.
Thanks a lot. TOM GILHAM. an OLD Friend.

Before I came home I went to Lowe's and bought a new air purifier for my room. I had an old one but with all the cats sleeping in my room I thought that I had better get a new one. I put food outside for the animals at about 5:45 p.m. Thanks for your emails. Thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Rascal is the only one with me at present and he is asleep. I have seen all of them this evening.

NOTES: Today has been mostly sunny with a high temperature of 57 degrees. I had lunch with Charley, Steve (Charley's pastor) and Doug (our cousin). I went by the post office and then home. I took a nap with Tony this afternoon. I put food outside for the animals at around 5:50 p.m. I had some emails telling me how they liked the Good Things. My nephew asked me what I would be doing during the time I did the Good Things if I stopped them. Well, I would probably work on puzzles. I would read a devotion regardless of whether I did the Good Things. So I am continuing with the Good Things for the present. Thanks for your e-mails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. The only one with me at present is Rascal. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Friday.
