Good Things

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(Peter said, quoting from the prophet Joel) 17 In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Acts 2:17-21(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD (The Lord says) 19 "The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. 20 Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end." - Isaiah 60:19-20(New International Version).

NOTES
I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I came by the post office. I took a nap this afternoon with Smokey. Then I worked some more in my office. When I work in my office I usually have help from one of my cats, maybe Beau, or Itty Bitty, or Rascal or Smokey. They get on the desk and lay right in front of me on whatever paper I am working on. I usually let them stay there until they are ready to move on. At about 6:30 p.m. I put out fresh water and food in the back yard. I also gave the cats their treats. The picture tonight is a close up of Beau and Everett. I will have company over the week-end. My son, Ron, and daughter, Treva, are coming to visit. There may not be Good Things Saturday through Monday. The cats are fine. I have seen all of them this evening. Little Girl is on the tv tray. Rascal was in a little while ago. Tony from across the street has been by for a visit and bite of food. Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 101 degrees. Low temperature this morning was 81 degrees. At 9:55 p.m. skies are clear with a temperature of 88 degrees. I will see you next time. Thanks to all who send e-mails and thanks to all who read the Good Things.

Believe - to have trust, faith, or confidence
".......blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:29-31 New International Version
I believe, therefore, I do not worry. I trust. I have faith. I have confidence. In the times we experience a perceived trial we have a choice. We always have a choice. These times of trial are opportunities to exercise our trust, our faith, and our confidence in the Lord and in things yet unseen. It's really just that simple. We tend to make things more complicated than necessary. We tend to over dramatize and exaggerate the situation. Why? We see things differently when we realize we are spiritual beings having human experiences, rather than human beings having (or not having) spiritual experiences. Jesus is alive and well today and is still performing miraculous signs in the presence of His disciples who are living and breathing today. Will you be on the receiving end of a miracle today or will you be the disciple who is the vessel God can use to bring a miracle to one of His people? Either way I think about it, I am excited about the new day ahead of me and the wonderful ways Jesus presents Himself to us. Keep your eyes and ears open and tuned in to the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in your life today. You will be amazed! Take care and have a wonderful day and just believe! Love, Nan

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. - Deuteronomy 7:9(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
25 To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal? says the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. - Isaiah 40:25-26(New International Version).

NOTES
I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office. I took a nap in early afternoon. When I got up from my nap I did two loads of laundry, dark and light. I then worked in my bedroom office trying to get caught up on filing of bills that I have been neglecting. I watched a Billy Graham Crusade at 6:00 p.m. This one was from Washington, D. C. in 1986. At 7:05 p.m I put out fresh water and food for the cats that eat outside and also gave them their daily treats which they expect every evening. I sat with them for a few minutes. The picture tonight is Smokey, Beau and Everett. I had an e-mail from my church friend, Debra Schock, this evening. I will include a paragraph from her e-mail at the end of the Good Things. The cats are fine. Little Girl on the tv tray tonight. The rest are elsewhere at present. Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 104 degrees. Low temperature this morning was 84 degrees. As I have stated before this year is going to be one the hottest summers on record for Oklahoma. At 9:55 p.m. skies are clear with a temperature of 93 degrees.
I will see you next time. Thanks for your e-mails!!

Here's the paragraph from Debra's letter:
I had to tell you what happened to me, when on my lunch break from work today: - I had a few errands to run on lunch break and one of my stops was at the News Capital, to pick up the picture of Jacob that I used for his Bday write up in Sundays paper and then I renewed our subscription - but anyway, when I gave the lady my check, she looked at me and said, "are you the Debra Schock that Everett Christian mentions in His Good Things?" and I looked at her and said, " that would be Me" - she smiled and said she looks forward to the Good Things and thanked me for sharing as well. We visited and she said that she went to school with June and was happy for them to be able to be in Hawaii! Small world, isn't it? Made me smile! You touch many lives, Everett!!! Appreciate You!
