GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 43 You have heard the law that says, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike." - Matthew 5:43-45(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
6 The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?
- Psalm 118:6(New Living Translation).

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Blessed are those who have learned to admire and not envy.

NOTES
Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 72 degrees. Low temperature this morning was 61 degrees. My daughter, Treva, and I attended Worship Sevices this morning. Pastor J. T. had not preached for us in three weeks due to the weather and other conditions. His message this morning was a continuation of the series What is a Christian? Today's sermon was titled "Are You a Techno-Christian?" Treva and I had lunch at home. She left for her home a little before 2:00 p.m. I heard from her a little while ago and she was home safe and sound in Topeka, Kansas. We had a wonderful time visiting while she was here and she did a lot of work for me. Things that I have been needing to do. I took her to Gia Como's Italian Restaurant on Saturday night for her birthday which is tomorrow. I attended church tonight which was "Missionary Study Night."
The cats are fine. They stay outside a lot while Treva is here with her big bulldog named Libby, although Libby loves to stay in her bedroom most of the time. Libby is a couch potato. My kitties are back to normal now coming and going as they please. Little Girl is on a blanket on the couch. Rascal and some of the other cats have been coming and going this evening.
At 9:55 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 67 degrees. I will see you next time.

Nan's Calendar
by Nan Forehand, Statesville, NC
Subject: Nan's Calendar Feb. 18th - Spring Cleaning!
Date: Feb 18, 2011 12:10 PM
Whew! Time for a break! When I rose from bed this morning, knowing "I have the day off", I knew it would be a perfect day for cleaning windows in my house. I just love to look out the beautiful sparkling clean windows at the birds feeding on the nearby feeder in the back yard. Plus, I needed to remove the "Bob snort" from the glass in my back door! Wow! What a difference that makes! I can see clearly now through the glass! Bob is a jewel of a pet. He is a black Lab. pound puppy we adopted from the animal shelter nearly four years ago. He doesn't look the size of a puppy anymore!
I've been productive since early this morning, but had to stop and take a break! As I thought about the topic of today's message, there came to mind a poem I wrote several years ago. I think it is quite appropriate to share it with you today. Now I must return to my windows. I hear the Windex calling my name!
Spiritual Maintenance
written by: Nan Forehand
December 22, 2006
I dare say, most of us don't like to do it
alas, at times we must, I'll admit
think along these lines, if you will
right now, while you're quiet and still
this in relation to deep house cleaning
a bit of wisdom you may be gleaning
remember to change your smoke alarm battery
don't be fooled by deceptive flattery
when was the last time you cleaned your oven
always give your family lots of lovin'
you either bend over or get on your knees to scrub the tub
try getting on your knees when you give your spirit a scrub
if you've a fireplace, don't get choked removing the ashes
when you make a mistake, don't give yourself fifty lashes
sparkling windows bring in the light
plenty of rest and your eyes will be bright
vacuum that carpet, don't delay
you're never too old to play
give those cobwebs a clean sweep
it's ok, when at times you need to weep
as for the HVAC, clean the filters of dust particles
read only the wholesome magazine articles
do you despise dusting the furniture
your inner self you must nurture
how long does it take to mop the floor
when opportunity knocks, open the door
most times you break a sweat mowing the grass
do yourself a favor, attend a Sunday School class
not fond of the clean up, but love to cook
the most valuable possession in the house is The Good Book
has the furniture not been moved in ages
open your Bible - read the words on the pages
rake those leaves before they crumble
reach for God, He's there when you stumble
WHEW!! it's a job, but don't leave it to chance
do it now - your spiritual maintenance
Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers (and sisters) in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
10 A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
- Proverbs 31:10(New International Version)
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
1 Therefore, since we have been made right in Gods sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing Gods glory. - Romans 5:1-2(New Living Translation).

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
If you removed the rocks, the brook would lose its song.
- From Reminisce Magazine -
If you go the wrong way, you must travel it twice.

NOTES
The day started with cloudy skies but the sun came out this afternoon. High temperature today was 73 degrees. Low temperature this morning was 62 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. Another friend, Jesse, also joined us for lunch. I came by the post office. I took a nap in early afternoon. When I got up from my nap I went to Country Mart, a Dollar General Store and Walmart. I bought cat food and supplies for the week. I saw three of those big birds soaring around over town today. One of them was very high in the sky. There may not be Good Things for two or three days. My daughter, Treva, will be visiting for the week-end.
The cats are fine doing their usual things.
At 9:30 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 66 degrees. I will see you next time.

Nan's Calendar

Subject: Nan's Calendar Feb. 17th - The Jewels In My Crown
Date: Feb 17, 2011 7:50 AM
The most important of all the jewels I wear around my neck are faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and above all, love. All of my jewels, I'll gladly share, because I know The Source of them. There are more where these came from and the supply is endless!

The Jewels in My Crown
written by Nan Forehand May 6, 2006
atop a pillow of fluffy, white cloud
rests a dazzling, bejeweled crown
fit for a King to wear it quite proud
this crown lovingly, painstakenly formed
molded and sculpted by the Master's hands
crafted with pride as by His hands it was warmed
adorned with jewels of every shape and size
multi-faceted prisms reflecting The Light
each one precious in His eyes
a mystery to behold how each jewel came to be
with experience and patience each one was created
I just asked God and he designed them for me
these jewels cast shadow and light
caressed and polished to a radiant sheen
one by one they brought Him delight
He used the tools of His trade to set them in place
each jewel captured inside it's setting
sparkle forever in time and space
I'll share a little secret before I'm through
these jewels representative of moments in time
are made up of the poems I've written for you
indeed, I asked God as a thought occured
to help me express in word and rhyme
yes, each and every prayer He heard
so now the rest of the story you know
how poems become jewels in my crown
and that God made them sparkle and glow
these jewels in my crown
I'll continue to collect
I hope they bring a smile when you're down
not deserving of this crown to wear
I would never want to get a big head
so humbly and gratefully my jewels I'll share
with a heartfelt appreciation for my friend named Ruth
who described my poem as a jewel
I love my Lord and that's the truth!
1 John 5:13
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him.
