GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD
is the death of his faithful servants.
- Psalm 116:15(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
25 Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One (God or Jesus) who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven! - Hebrews 12:25(New Living Translation).
A QUOTE
There are enough holidays for most of us which can quite properly be devoted to pure holiday making... Sundays differ from other holidays - among other ways - in the fact that there are fifty-two of them every year.... On Sunday, go to church. - Theodore Roosevelt -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Luck is where preparation meets opportunity.
- From Reminisce Magazine -
God doesn't use an answering machine; He takes each call personally.

NOTES
Today has been a warm sunny day with a high temperature of 73 degrees. Low temperature last night was 35 degrees. Colder weather is coming soon. I had lunch with Charley and his former pastor, Joel Kircher. Then to the post office and back home. My cleaning lady came at 1:00 p.m. and cleaned my house. The rest of the day has been a normal day. I just got a note from Pastor JT. I will include it at the end of tonight's Good Things.
The cats are fine. Rascal just came in to see me. He boo headed me and then started eating dry food. Little Girl is in her usual place and you know where that is. The other cats are resting somewhere. The picture tonight is Beau and Smokey.
At 9:20 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 62 degrees. I will see you next time.
In Christian Love, Everett.
Here is Pastor's note:
Quick update for everyone.
I am doing "well." I am very tired, a bit sore, but otherwise considering the alternatives, I am doing okay.
I do plan on being in church tomorrow, although it will be a much reduced role. We will have a "guest" speaker in the morning and I hope everyone will be out to support her. She is coming in from Henryetta as they are graciously sending us this assistance.
Tomorrow night is the fifth Sunday Sing at Friendship. At this time I must say I do not know if I am planning on attending...it depends on how well I feel or how much energy I have. I will evaluate that later...
I apologize that I have not been able to get out very much in terms of communication over the past couple of days. I have had no access to computers. Tonight is the first time I have been on since Tuesday.
I would like for us to remember Kaden Hartin...he has been sick this week. Burlene has been recovering but has still had some effects of her illness. The LaRue's have had this junk as well!! Brenda LoPresto's dad had his surgery Wednesday and from what I understand he is home but will be unable to walk on his ankle for at least a couple of months.
Please remember the family of Nathan Steele. He lost his battle with his brain tumor this week. His service is tomorrow at two at Bishop's Funeral Chapel. I had a chance to talk with his wife Hillary for a few minutes tonight. Remember to pray for her tonight as she is left to raise two young children!
Brenda Franzese's recovery is going well...PTL!!
Thanks again to everyone for your prayers...well wishes...and regards this past week. I cannot say enough how much we appreciate and love you all!!
Here's hoping for a great Sunday worship!!

Psalm 86:11-13
Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave.
I wrote the following poem October 27, 2005 after reading these verses in Psalms. Find quiet time to be alone with the Lord and you will be amazed at how your creativity will flow forth. Have a wonderful day!
Love, Nan
An Undivided Heart
Lord, as I picked up the Bible
and didn't know where to turn
You brought me to a special place
taught me a lesson I needed to learn
it comes from the book of Psalms
here was the place I needed to start
the more I read, the more I learned
Lord, only you can give me an undivided heart
all emotions, thoughts and attitudes
flow from it's center
good, bad or indifferent thoughts
let only goodness enter
I return to you from whence I came
Lord, ready and willing to praise Your name
Amen

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
26 For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
- Galatians 3:26(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
89 Your eternal word, O Lord,
stands firm in heaven.
90 Your faithfulness extends to every generation,
as enduring as the earth you created.
- Psalm 119:89-90(New Living Translation).
A QUOTE
Watch your actions, they become habits.

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Nothing lasts longer than something you don't like.

Being kind is more important than being right.

NOTES
Today has been a sunny warm day with a high temperature of 74 degrees. Low temperature last night was 29 degrees. I had a normal day. I went to the cemetery. I made my weekly trip to Walmart for cat food and supplies. Pastor J.T. and wife, Dianne, arrived back home tonight. They are very tired. We appreciate the prayers for them.
The cats are fine. Little Girl is looking out the front patio doors and Rascal is lying on the desk that is near me. I reach over and pet him now and then. The other cats are resting and sleeping. The picture tonight is Smokey taking it easy.
At 9:30 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 52 degrees. I will see you next time.

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
- Psalm 91:9-10(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
14 Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. - Hebrews 9:14(New Living Translation).
A QUOTE
I need no other argument; I need no other plea. It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died for me.
- Lidie H. Edmunds -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Human hands build a house, but human hearts build a home.
- From Reminisce Magazine -
Be fair, be firm and be consistent.

NOTES
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 64 degrees. Low temperature last night was 18 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and then went by the post office. I then went to the hospital to see Pastor JT. They were getting ready to send him to the Oklahoma City Heart Hospital, South Campus. They took him by ambulance for precautions. He told me he was feeling good. They were going to do a catheterization tonight. I haven't heard anything this evening.
I don't know why I tell you everything I do during the day since it is usually the same thing every day. I may drop some of that and just report the important events.
The cats are fine. Little Girl and Rascal in their usual places and the others are probably sleeping. The cat picture tonight is Smokey.
At 9:20 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 41 degrees. I will see you next time.
